Pool Rules
HOLBROOK HEIGHTS SUMMER POOL RULES
In the event of inclement weather, the pool may be closed
without prior notice at the discretion of the management.
All individuals/families must fill out the pool registration card at or before their first visit to the pool. Only people listed on the card will be allowed to use the pool. There will be no substitutions of people listed. Please sign in each time you use the pool. Guests must be signed up and accompanied by a homeowner who is 18 or older and there is a limit of 4 guests per residence per day.
GENERAL POOL REGULATIONS:
All swimmers must shower before entering the pool.
Children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult and the ratio cannot exceed 1 adult to 3 children.
No alcoholic beverages or controlled substances, glass containers, skateboards, rollerblades, bicycles or other related equipment, running, pushing or rough-housing in the deck area, loud music, profanity or inappropriate behavior, smoking, chewing tobacco or gum is allowed in the pool area.
POOL ATTIRE: All swimmers must wear proper swim attire, no street clothes. Hair must be tied back. All diaper-age children must wear swim diapers.
KIDDIE POOL: The small pool is for the use of children, age 6 and under, and with direct supervision of an adult (over 18). There is NO lifeguard assigned at the small pool. Swim diapers must be worn if the child is not toilet trained.
SAFETY REGULATIONS IN THE GENERAL POOL: No one is allowed to remain near the ladder areas. Do not dive into the shallow end or the pool. Clear the pool immediately when the lifeguards blow the whistle.
For the safety of all members no pushing, throwing, tagging, dunking, 'chicken fighting' or splash fighting with other swimmers is allowed. People with open wounds or who are bleeding will not be allowed to use the pool.
Only members who have demonstrated competent swimming ability (one lap of the pool free-style, without stopping) will be allowed in the deep end or diving area. The test will be given by the lifeguards. Non-competent swimmers are required to wear a Coast Guard approved life jacket provided by their parents. Inflatable armbands are not allowed in the pool.
The lifeguards are there for your safety. They should not be distracted in any way from their job. Please limit your contact to immediate in-pool problems. Other concerns may be taken up with the pool manager or check-in person.
DIVING AREA: Only one person at a time is allowed on the diving board and ladder. Always wait until other divers or swimmers exit the diving area before diving. All dives must be toward the center of the diving tank. Only one bounce per dive is permitted. No running on the board. Goggles, masks, and flotation devices may not be worn while diving. Playing or swimming in the diving area is not permitted while boards are open for diving.
SWIM TIMES:
- The mandatory 15 minute breaks for swimmers under 18 will be at the last quarter hour during General and Family swim (example 2:45 to 3:00 PM)
- Family Swim - all children under 18 must be accompanied by someone over 18. Ratio 1 to 3 children.
- Adult Swim - NO LIFEGUARD AVAILABLE - only those 18 or older are allowed in the pool or pool area.
DISCIPLINE POLICY: All lifeguards have the right to remove anyone from the pool area who does not comply with the pool rules and regulations.
- FIRST OFFENSE: 15-minute time out.
- SECOND OFFENSE: The person will be asked to leave for the day and the parents will be notified if the offender is under 18.
- THIRD OFFENSE: The person is asked to leave for the remainder of the year. (Pool Manager has the final decision).
These policies are for everyone's protection.
